HOW DO I CARE FOR MY S.E. PIECES
When it comes to gold plated jewelry, it's important to care for it properly to ensure its longevity.
We use high-quality 18k and 14k gold plating on our jewelry pieces, which provides a thick layer of gold that is less likely to tarnish or wear off compared to lower-quality plating options. However, it's still important to handle your jewelry with care to maintain its beauty and shine.
To care for your gold plated jewelry, we recommend removing it before showering, swimming, or engaging in any activities that may expose it to water or chemicals.
Please store your pieces in your Second Edition Jewelry soft cloth pouch that is provided with each purchase when not wearing to avoid scratches and damage.
Avoid exposing your jewelry to direct sunlight or heat, as this can cause the plating to fade or become discolored.
To clean your gold plated jewelry, use a soft cloth to wipe it gently. Do not use jewelry cleaner.
It's also important to note that gold plated jewelry may eventually show signs of wear over time, especially if it's exposed to water or chemicals frequently.

WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU USE
We use 18k and 14k gold along with ethically sourced precious gemstones. We offer a selection of 18K and 14K gold plated, and vermeil.
Please refer to your specific piece for details listed here.
18K PLATED
18K gold is a popular and valuable material used in jewelry making. It is made up of 75% pure gold and 25% other metals, such as silver or copper, which are added to increase the metal's durability and strength. The result is a stunning, high-quality material that is more durable than 24K or pure gold, making it ideal for everyday wear.
Because 18K gold is composed of a higher percentage of pure gold than other gold alloys, it has a richer and more vibrant color. It has a bright, yellow-gold color that is popular in traditional jewelry designs, but it can also be alloyed with other metals to create a range of hues, from white to rose gold.
One of the benefits of 18K gold is that it is less likely to cause an allergic reaction than other metals, making it a great choice for people with sensitive skin. Additionally, it is relatively easy to care for, and can be cleaned with a soft cloth and mild soap and water.
When buying 18K gold jewelry, it's important to note that the price can vary based on factors such as the design, quality of the gemstones, and craftsmanship. However, because 18K gold is a high-quality and valuable material, it is often seen as a worthwhile investment that can hold its value over time.
14K PLATED
14K gold plated jewelry is made by applying a thin layer of 14K gold to a base metal, usually brass or sterling silver. The plating provides the appearance of gold at a more affordable price point. However, because the layer of gold is relatively thin, it may wear off over time or with frequent use. To maintain the appearance of 14K gold plated jewelry, it's important to handle it with care and avoid exposing it to water or harsh chemicals.
VERMEIL
Vermeil gold is a type of gold plating that is made by layering a thick coating of gold, typically 14K or 18K, over sterling silver. The gold layer must be at least 2.5 microns thick to be considered vermeil. Vermeil gold is often more durable and longer-lasting than traditional gold plating because of the thickness of the gold layer. It provides the luxurious look of solid gold at a more affordable price point. However, it still requires proper care and maintenance to ensure its longevity. To care for vermeil gold jewelry, it's important to avoid exposing it to water or chemicals and to store it in a cool, dry place. Cleaning should be done with a soft cloth or gentle jewelry cleaner.
